Sex, Lies, and Conversation

dreamstimecomp_197173561Based on my own observations of male-female conversation, I believe that Deborah Tannen’s analysis is accurate. I believe that men and women do communicate very differently, and these differences cause trouble in relationships. Like Tannen stated, I have observed unlike communication habits between men and women. While men seem to be unfocused and change topics frequently, women tend to be very concentrated on the conversation and can stay on one topic longer. Tannen also said that women talk more than men at home. I have noticed this in my own life. My dad talks very little at home, while my mom talks quite a lot. I think that the different communication habits of men and women will continue to cause confusion and difficulty in relationships until the roles are better understood.

Natalie, you have a good start to your blog, keeping up with the required writing responses and personal choice of blog posts. You have a good focus to your blog’s theme, too. You should also add more to your blog to help it better reflect your blog’s theme, such as changing the title and adding tools or features to your site, such as a list of links to other related websites. Let me know if you have questions.
