photoDuring my Junior year painting class, I discovered that I had a favorite painter. Never before had I ever thought about this or tried to pick a favorite, but I quickly discovered that most of the time I chose a painting to re-create, it was originally painted by Edward Hopper. I love his style of realistic painting and how he chose ordinary scenes with ordinary people to paint. This particular sketchbook that I drew and colored is a re-creation of Edward Hopper’s  Automat (1927). I used oil pastels for this piece of artwork, and it took one night to create. It is not my favorite or least favorite, and it is the first of many Edward Hopper paintings I chose to conquer. When I can find the time to work on more art, I will probably continue to work on Hopper’s paintings. The following link is to a blog that lists the author’s favorite pieces by Edward Hopper:!/2013/04/fine-nine-edward-hopper.html
