This sketchbook was drawn for my painting class during my junior year. I procrastinated until the day before it was due, and I had a very bad headache while drawing it, but it turned out pretty well. This picture was taken two years after I drew this, which is why it appears a little faded and smudged. I really like the subject I chose for this drawing. The iconic Uncle Sam poster has a lot of meaning for the United States. I, along with other Americans, have seen this illustration many times before, so I thought it would be cool to re-create something so prevalent. Using only a #2 pencil, this took all afternoon and night to sketch. I’m really happy with this piece of artwork. I’d love to someday draw Uncle Sam again in color.
